Knitting is a hands-on activity that encourages the use of both left and right brain mentalities; not only is it fun, but it’s beneficial for children’s fine motor skills, understanding patterns, and following directions. After you master the basics, knitting can be a calming activity you share together. Imagine the fun items you’ll make!

Event: Knit 2 Together adult-and-child knitting classes
Dates: The class is a four-week session: April 7, April 14, April 21, and May 12.
Time: 7 to 8 p.m.
Location: Meeting Room at the Shrewsbury Public Library

Age: The class is designed for children in grades 3-5, plus their adult companion.
Materials: Please bring size 8 needles and worsted weight yarn. Bamboo or wood needles are recommended rather than metal needles.
More About the Knit 2 Together Class Session:
Knit 2 Together is a four-week session of weekly classes, and it’s important that you commit to attending all four classes to make the most of the experience, especially considering space is limited for participants. The first lesson on April 7 is for adults only, so the adults can be introduced to the principles of knitting before the April 14 class, when children join. The following three sessions (April 14, April 21, and May 12) are for both parents and children.
