Dealing with a smile that does not look the way that you would like can become overwhelming. However, especially for adults, the idea of moving forward with orthodontic treatment often results in one major concern: You worry about spending your course of treatment with a mouth full of metal. The good news is that we offer clear braces to align your teeth with clear aligner trays. Not sure exactly what this means but you’re happy to hear you have options? Learn more about what to expect from this type of system with the following information:
Your Consultation
We do not simply offer clear braces to every patient looking to achieve a straighter smile. First, we will need to meet with you to learn more about your unique smile needs and your goals. This will include a discussion about what you hope to accomplish. We will also examine your mouth visually and with the use of advanced imaging – gaining a detailed understanding of your smile’s alignment will assist in revealing your candidacy for treatment.
Preparing For Treatment
Clear braces rely on the use of one of two systems. We may offer Invisalign or ClearCorrect, both of which will require you to wear clear aligner trays. The trays, of course, are customized according to the dimensions of your mouth, since no two smiles are alike. To create your treatment we will need to take impressions – or molds – of your top and bottom teeth. A skilled technician at a dental lab will then create trays based on those molds.
Your Treatment
You will return to our office when we receive your clear braces trays. We will provide you with your first set, which you will wear over your teeth for about 20 to 22 hours a day. You may take them out of your mouth to eat and to take care of your smile. You will then proceed to graduate from one set of trays to the next until treatment is complete and your teeth are aligned.
