Is there any better time of year to see and taste all the bounty that Massachusetts has to offer? Newton Community Farm will have its Winchester Street farm stand, the one located at the farm, open from 1:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday. An additional stand will also be open each week at Newton’s Elm Street Farmers’ Market, which is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. through October. These are great opportunities to teach your kids about the many benefits of shopping locally, as well as what is in season. For your convenience, NCF accepts cash, checks, Visa and Master Card.
Enjoy Local Summer Produce and Learning Opportunities
NTC is also offering summer programs for children through August. There are a variety of classes available for all age groups, covering everything from planting concepts to cooking basics. In each course kids will enjoy the benefits of hands-on learning at the farm. Pre-registration is required, and spots are limited, so contact them as soon as possible if you are interested in enrolling your children.
