If you are looking for some refined country entertainment to enjoy as a family, this fall, look no further than the Gore Place. On August 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. Gore Place will be hosting a corn harvest. During this event visitors can enjoy fresh roasted corn, picked from local farms, rosemary lemonade, and lawn games including, fittingly, corn hole. You can also purchase fresh corn from the Farm Stand, and enjoy demonstrations of popular corn husk crafts, like dolls and toys.
Admission is free. The refreshments will be sold individually. All proceeds from the event will go to mission-related programs, like the farm at Gore Place.
Visit [email protected] for more information, or call 781.894.2798. Gore Place is located at 52 Gore St. Waltham, MA 02453.
Country Tales and Tours
The estate will also be hosting evening tours on Friday nights, from August 28 to September 25, 2015. The tours will include the great country estate of Christopher and Rebecca Gore, including both the interior of the mansion and the countryside. Stories of country life will also be told during the tour, including some from the ever-witting Jane Austen.
Tickets for tours, which begin at 7 p.m., are available online, at evening-tours.bpt.me, or can be purchased at the door. The cost is $15 for adults, or $10 for members, or children between five and twelve-years-old.
