Invisalign: A True Or False Quiz

If you are interested in getting braces to straighten your teeth, but are a mature adult or older teen and could do without the embarrassment, there are other ways to straighten teeth today. Designed specifically for older people who would find metal braces embarrassing and cumbersome, Invisalign are clear aligners that are barely noticeable. Take our true or false quiz below to find out how much you know about Invisalign treatment.

True Or False?

True or False: Plastic aligners may be clear but they are stiff, bulky, and uncomfortable.

True or False: Invisalign aligners perform the same way as metal braces.

True or False: Clear aligners are bonded to your teeth.

True or False: In order for clear aligners to work, you need to wear them 24/7.

Answers:

False: Clear aligners are made of, BPA-free, soft, smooth plastic that are custom created to your individual treatment plan. They are comfortable and inconspicuous and can often meet the same desired outcome as metal braces in about half the time.

True: Metal braces gradually move your teeth using pressure and so do clear aligners. However, when the arch wires on metal braces are tightened to apply that pressure, it can be painful and uncomfortable. Conversely, clear aligners are pain-free and comfortable. Your teeth are gradually repositioned by moving to the next set of aligners.

False: Invisalign clear aligners are removable so you can take them out when you eat, and to brush and floss your teeth.  You will also be provided with several sets of aligners, and about every two weeks you will advance to the next set in your treatment plan.

False: You will be required to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours each day, but as stated above, you can take them out to eat and perform your daily oral hygiene.
