Want to get some exercise while helping to support a good cause? September 26, 2015 will be the Edinburg Center’s Sixth Annual Rock Into Recovery Fun Run and Walk. The 5K will begin at 10 a.m. on the Waltham Common, and will continue along the Charles River, providing participants with a scenic view to enjoy while they get in their cardio. Proceeds from the event will go directly to the Edinburg Center, which helps provide recovery opportunities for people with mental health conditions and addictions.
Family Fun with a Rock Festival
After the run is completed, even more fun will begin, with a Rock Into Recovery Festival at the Waltham Common, located at 610 Main St, Waltham, MA 02452. This part of the event will be open to the public, and will last from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will include live music, plenty of food options, plus crafts and activities for children.
To register for the Fun Run/Walk, or for more information about this and other upcoming events, visit the center’s website at www.edinburgcenter.org. The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for youth. Local artists with disabilities are also encouraged to contact organizer, Janet, as there are still spaces open in the Art Marketplace for selling paintings, jewelry and other handcrafted wares. A half table is free, and full 8 feet tables are only $10. You can reach Janet at 781.761.5287 or by email, at [email protected].
