When you lose one or more teeth, the most important thing you can do for your oral health is to replace them as soon as possible. When it comes to replacing your lost teeth, dental implants are typically the most successful solution, regardless of how many teeth you’ve lost. If you are missing a tooth, several teeth, or most/all of your teeth, then ask us about rebuilding your smile with an appropriate number of dental implants when you visit our office.

A tooth’s root—Dental implants are surgically inserted into your jawbone, replacing the roots of your lost teeth that were once embedded in the same bone. By contrast, conventional replacement teeth (i.e., bridges and dentures) focus only on replacing the crowns of your teeth, which their roots support and sustain.
As many teeth as you’ve lost—The beauty of dental implants is that, as single posts, they can be used to replace a single lost tooth, or to rebuild a system of roots to replace several or all of your teeth. The number of implants needed for your specific case depends on how many teeth you’ve lost, and the size of your corresponding dental prosthetic.
Any of the above—Once your dental implants are inserted and your jawbone has healed (usually within about 4-6 months), they can be used to support and stabilize a dental crown (for one tooth), bridge (for multiple consecutive teeth), or a partial or full denture.
